This digital painting was my entry for the Group's contest.Unfortunately it wasn't ranked.

I chose the contest's "Famous horses in the history" category, so the horse you can see on my painting is Hungary's (it's my home country) one and only worldwide famous racehorse, Overdose.I also tried to follow the other category (horses from a special angle) that's why I didn't paint him in racing position, but in a laying position instead.

Adobe Photoshop CS3, and WACOM Bamboo A6 tablet were used, and lots-lots of time needed....

About Overdose:

Overdose was born in 2005, England, he's a 5 year old English Thoroughbred. His father is Starborough, his mother is Our Poppet.You can find his whole pedigree here: [link]

His owner, Zoltán Mikóczy, bought him unexpectedly in Newmarket in an auction.He didn't plan to buy any horses, but finally he fell in love with a colt, and bought him very cheap. Everybody said that that horse won't have any success on the racecourse because of his weird body-construction and weird gallop. Everybody considered him ugly.

But then Hungary's best trainer, Sándor Ribárszki started to train him, and he had a performance on the racecourse which exceeded all the expectations! That "ugly colt" has already run at 14 races,and he won them all!! Earned millions of Euro for his owner, and his value and price is now in the starry sky...Seeing his success, the famous jockey, Christophe Sumillon wanted to ride him!

Unfortunately he had some serious problems with his hooves and it took a long time to heal it,Europe's best farrier came to him to put special horseshoes on his legs. After that long break, his owner decided to change his training method, and trainer, which seemed to be a very bad step in Overdose's career. Shortly after the changes, he got his first 7th place. But despite this, our whole nation is very proud of him, our "ugly beloved miracle"!
